Hot Spot
Great news! Reno is getting a new piece of sculpture in its Public Art Collection.
The city has temporarily installed the steel letters that spell out the word BELIEVE on the ReTRAC Plaza. In a blog post in July 2014, I wrote about this inspirational piece made by artists Laura Kimpton and Jeff Shomberg, and how it made its way from the dusty playa at Burning Man to downtown Reno.
It’s exciting to see the words as part of the downtown landscape. It’s a positive barometer to see how Reno is becoming an arts hub.
Begin ringing in the New Year at the city’s dedication of BELEVE at 3 p.m. Dec. 31. And let’s keep believing that Reno is becoming an arts destination.
What: Dedication of BELIEVE
When: Dec. 31 at 3 p.m.
Where: ReTRAC Plaza, between the Eldorado and Whitney Peak
