Local artist examines the heart @ Holland Project Art Gallery

Local artist Traci L. Turner explores matters of the heart and emotional vulnerability with her exhibit Cor Cordium. Working primarily in oils and employing bold, expressive color with loose brushwork in an impressionistic style, Traci presents a series of human hearts.

Cor Cordium is on view in the Holland Project Hallway Gallery through Nov. 22, 2019. Normal gallery hours are noon – 6 p.m. Wed. – Fri. , or you can make an appointment by emailing alisha@hollandreno.org or calling 775-448-6500.

Nevada Museum of Art presents: Maya Lin: Pin River—Tahoe Watershed @ Nevada Museum of Art
Nov 13 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

A large-scale wall installation made from thousands of straight pins showing the perimeter of Lake Tahoe and its tributaries. Straight pins have long been used as markers on maps to signify the location of the viewer or the site of a specific place or event. By aggregating thousands of custom-made pins into maps of large-scale geographic features, Lin reverses our standard notion of figure to ground. Viewers begin to realize how rivers and lakes actually consist of many thousands of individual incidents of rain and snow, flood and drought, pools and waterfalls, bays and inlets.
